Class is starting this week! So excited!
Just a few reminders:
* Classes are in my home, 8402 NE 107th St.
Please go ahead and come on in (don't worry about knocking), and head down the stairs. There is a family room upstairs where you are welcome to wait if you'd like.
* It is always better for your child if you don't watch class. Sounds funny, but they will be enormously distracted by you, so if you'd like to stay and wait, please do so on the couches upstairs! :)
* Tuition is always due the first class of the month.
* We will follow the school calendar for classes. If there is an exception, I will be sure to let you know!
Can't wait to see my little friends! Thanks!

NEW DANCE YEAR!
It's that time of the summer -- time to register for fall classes again! Time has flown by, hope you have all had a happy and safe summer. Can't wait to see new and returning friends! I will place definite times and classes based on students that sign up, so those will become available as we get closer, but it will follow a similar routine to last year -- younger dancers on Wednesdays, older dancers and Musical Theater on Thursdays. I am getting ready to have a new baby! Due August 2nd, so we will start classes the second week of September to give just a little breathing room. :) Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 9th, as our start date. I honestly can't wait. I LOVE what I do!
Just a quick review:
* I have been teaching dance and theater for more then thirteen years after extensive study in both disciplines since childhood. Next to my family and faith, we can go ahead and call it my grand passion! I love it and love to share that love with little people!
* Like last year, we will follow the school calendar -- if there is no school, there is no class.
* Classes are taught in my home.
* In a seriously serious effort to be affordable, tuition is $20 per month. There are never registration fees, costume fees, imaginary fees, or because-I-feel-like-it fees!
* Dress code is casual in that it is most important for me to see legs and feet. I recommend leotards, tights, and dance shoes, but if students come in their cut-off sweats and socks, I'm still a happy camper. Emphasis on affordable here, friends.
* It is super important to me that class be fun and educational -- but very low stress for my students. So when it comes time for spring recital, you will not be inundated with rehearsals and we won't be flipping out about costumes or particular stylings -- that is just not how I roll. I want my little chickens to have FUN!
* Here is a link to last years overview of policy if you'd like more details: http://musicdancetheater.blogspot.com/2013/08/for-reference.html
Please let me know if you would like to register as soon as possible so I can start making class lists and setting times! You are welcome to comment here, email me at marieallred@hotmail.com, or call or text at 435-862-4675. Thanks!

Hopefully your student made it home this week with a note that looked like this!
Dear Parents,
Just a reminder that our
recital is next week! Thursday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the building where I
attend church. The address is 6751 Northeast
70th Street – right next to the Mormon Temple off the 435. We are getting pretty excited around these parts.
There will be a rehearsal next Wednesday, May 21 on the stage they are
performing on – please come in through the back doors of the church so that you
don’t have to wander around. J
All dance classes will be rehearsing from 5-6:15. Musical Theater will be from
6:15-7. Remember that dress for the performance are either their dance clothes,
or dark pants and a brightly colored shirt. Hair and make-up is whatever makes
my little friends feel best about themselves! I am happy to answer any
questions! Thanks!
Marie.

RECITAL
Classes start again tomorrow! I am so excited to see my young friends again -- I have missed them! Remember that is the first class of the new month and tuition is due. So excited to say we have a date for our little recital! It will be Thursday, May 22 at 6:30 -- on the stage in the building where I attend church -- I will have the address for you as it comes closer. I am so excited for you to se...e your kids have fun performing for you!
Here is a reminder of my recital policy, as outlined at the beginning of the year:
"There will be a fun recital at the end of the year. This will be our opportunity to show our families what we have accomplished!
...I wanted lessons to be affordable. I feel like lessons can be so expensive that it prevents many kids who would love to have the chance to take them from having that opportunity. So, that meant cutting expenses, hoping to bless both our family and yours. It also asks you as the parents to understand that there will be no rainbows and butterflies when it is time for recitals -- no sparkling costumes, no brilliant lights, no fancy venue -- just kids who have had a wonderful time and are happy to show their loved ones all they had learned."
So, that means no big preparations for you. Trying to get a time cleared in the building for a little rehearsal there, but as for costumes -- if they have dance clothes, that would be great. If not, or for Musical Theater, dark pants and a bright shirt. Make their hair or makeup as fancy or simple as they would like it to be -- this is really about them feeling so good about themselves; however they feel best! The recital will be casual... I am just a low stress person, but most importantly, want it to be NO stress and ALL excitement for them! I am always available to answer questions. Feel free to email or text me anytime! Thanks!
